Ray’s September Newsletter:
Greetings All, Wow…. Where did the summer go? Aside from the one week of heat and all the rain, I managed to cram in quite a bit of fun with all of you. Thank you for your presence and your participation all summer long! We had some hilarious moments, made new friends, and got reacquainted with some old ones. Some of the highlights of the summer for me were the many parties in the rain, and weddings where people just outdid themselves. Wednesday, I’ll be at The George Inn,, Thursday at The Irish Cottage, and Friday at The Airport Pub. Saturday, I will be jamming at Tomahawk Lake in the afternoon and retuning to Doc’s Place at night. Come Sunday, I’ll be heading over to Stockholm for a private party, and Monday I’ll be back at Tomahawk Lake for the final day. Justin is doing a gig at Hooters on Friday. On Saturday, He’ll be at Beaver Hill Campground in Hamburg, NJ. Jess is at Doc’s Place Thursday and the Vernon Inn on Saturday. It’s her birthday this week. Oh Boy! Enough said! Some other establishments in the area have expressed interest in having the Karaoke Experience. We are always grateful to our friends who have recommended us. If there are other upcoming events where there is a need for music…please drop me a line, As always, I am grateful to all of you who shared this past week with me and look forward to our next encounter. Ray’s August Newsletter:
Greetings All, It’s Wednesday morning and I’ve gotten off to a slow start… I could blame it on the heat and leave it at that. Justin and I spent a couple of hours watching Jess compete in the Sussex Farm and Horse Show and munched our way through several concession stands. That’s about all I could handle on my days off. I’m gearing up for tonight and the rest of the week ahead! Wednesday I’ll be at The George Inn at night, Thursday at The Irish Cottage, and Friday at The Airport Pub. Saturday I will be gigging in Hackettstown in the late afternoon, and then tag teaming with Jerry Carter at Doc’s. Justin is doing a gig at Hooters on Friday and Saturday afternoon he’s doing a private party. Jess is back at the Vernon Inn. Unless she needs time off for her equine activities, then you might find me there. Come Sunday, I’ll be heading back to Tomahawk Lake. Some other establishments in the area have expressed interest in having the Ray Sikora’s Karaoke Experience. We are always grateful to our friends who have recommended us. If there are other restaurants or bars where you would like to see us, mention it to the owner and we’ll see what we can do…As always, I am grateful to all of you who shared this past week with me and look forward to our next encounter. Visit the website raysikora.net and see if you are in the “Photos” there under “Local Celebrities”. Justin Sikora is hosting karaoke every Friday at Hooters in Franklin. He starts at 9 p.m. New comers are always welcome. This week’s schedule is on the calendar. Come on out and be a part of the fun. Ray’s Final July Newsletter:
Greetings All, It’s Monday morning and yes… the coffee pot is perking away! It was a busy weekend with the three gigs on Saturday, but with Justin’s help I got through them all... Filling in at the Vernon Inn for Jess was amusing. There’s no doubt she has a cast of characters who can sing and act as well. A couple of motorheads had the crowd in stitches with their renditions of The Rocky Horror Show and various other crowd favorites. They were like the Rat Pack in leather! It was nice to chat with Dan the owner. I also enjoyed their live band out at their tiki bar. Jerry"Bud" Carter came back from the shore to hold court at Doc’s Place… I had only one gig on Sunday…. In a battered but soulful voice, I managed to sing “Hotel California” once at Tomahawk Lake. Usually it’s requested three times a show… Whew! I dodged that bullet… I have been reacquainted with a number of people I haven’t seen in years this week and it’s been delightful. Some have left me messages on the website and others have come up personally and said hi. I do appreciate hearing from all of you. My favorite this week was a fellow at Tomahawk Lake who said,” I been coming to hear you at Tomahawk Lake for years. I remember when your hair was dark and I had hair!” Wednesday I’ll be at The George Inn at night, Thursday at The Irish Cottage, and Friday at The Airport Pub. Saturday I will be gigging in Highland Lakes in the late afternoon, and then tag teaming with Jerry Carter at Doc’s. Justin is doing a gig Saturday afternoon and Jess is back at the Vernon Inn. Come Sunday, I’ll be heading back to Tomahawk Lake. Some of you have asked if I’ll be doing some live music in the near future and my reply has been, “I’m working on it”. Dan and I are looking into “sitting in” with some of fine bands in Sussex County. Not everyone needs a pedal steel or keyboard player, but it’s still nice to hear one once in a while. As always, I am grateful to all of you who shared this past week with me and look forward to our next encounter.
